Who can register and play Lethbridge Cyclones?

Any female athlete who does not have a female team in their resident association is eligible to play on a Cyclones team! We have girls from Lethbridge, Coaldale, Fort Macleod, Nobleford, Piikani Nation, Pincher Creek, and more!

 

When does a typical season take place?

First skates usually begin in September and depending on the age group and team, the season will finish sometime between the end of February and the end of March.

 

I also dance, play soccer, take judo classes, etc. …. can I still play hockey?

Yes!  We have tons of multi-sport athletes on all our teams. Although we think hockey is pretty amazing, we also support everyone in all their interests and are very accommodating!

 

What is the time commitment for Cyclones hockey?

Depending on the age group and team, there are 1-2 practices and 1-2 games each week. U7 will be on the ice each Saturday and Sunday morning. U9 can expect to have 1 practice on a weekday and 1-2 games on the weekend. U11 to U18 can expect 1 weekday practice and 1-2 weekend games. Depending on the team, a second weekday practice (usually on Fridays) may also be scheduled either regularly or periodically.

 

How can I register for the upcoming season?

Registration typically opens in May or June and is available thru September. There is a discount if registering before July, but all first-time players may receive this discount regardless of registration date. All registration is done through the Lethbridge Minor Hockey website. More information can be found on the LMHA website under the “Registrations” tab at the top. Be sure to select the Female program when registering!
